Great Relationship

Even if you’re in a good relationship, you can’t help but wonder: What do they know that I don’t? And if you’re single, you might look at these couples and attribute it all to chemistry or destiny. But it turns out that people in great relationships live by a few basic rules and they make these rules a priority in their day-to-day lives together. As a new parent, one thing you realize in the first day is that you go through lots of diapers. lots and lots of diapers. And pretty soon, you realize some diapers are better than others. In the hospital we started with Huggies. They were pretty good. But then when we got home, we discovered the magic which is Pampers Swaddlers Sensitive. They have this yellow stripe that turns blue when the diaper is blue. Sure you’re praying about 2-3 extra cents for that indicator line, but now you know if you really need to change it. The husband loves them. A couple cents isn’t all that much when you think about how many pennies you have lying around, but when you consider we’re going through 8-10 diapers a day, not to mention the times when they poop during or right after a diaper change. So over time, the per cent diaper rate adds itself up.

We had our first baby play date this week. The 2 babies were both about 2 months old, and the most exciting thing was when we introduced the boy to our girl, he sneezed on her. Hee hee.. It was pretty funny. Anyways, during our conversation, we got on the topic of diapers and they shared with us about how they bought a batch of Kirkland diapers to try but didn’t like them, because they leaked. But then they said, maybe it’s because we have a boy, so here’s a couple, try them, see if they leak for you. So they left us with some to try and lo and behold. They DO leak! Tragic, since they are a good price.

Today, I bought a set of Safeway/Vons diapers. They have this new mom to mom brand, so we’re trying them out. They are not as soft as Pampers, but they have some good leak coverage. I’ll try them out the next couple days.

we had our 6 week doctor’s appt last week where we weighed the Torito and found out she’s in the 75th percentile for height, weight, and head. she’s getting big so fast! can we go back a couple weeks to when she still fit into the tiny onesies? already i’m amazed at how quickly time passes and know that these days will quickly be a mere memory. i guess it’s also really exciting because there’s so much to look forward to.
